WASHINGTON –Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO-02) released the below statement following House passage of the Financial CHOICE Act by a 233 – 186 vote:
“My dad owned a small retail carpet store in Manchester called Carpetime; all he wanted was for government to get off his back and out of his way so he can provide good paying jobs for his employees and services for his community.
Today’s passage of the Financial CHOICE Act repeals thousands of burdensome regulations that made it harder for families to qualify for a mortgage, obtain an auto loan, and access other forms of credit that they depend on every day. My focus is always on the needs of families and small businesses and the CHOICE Act gives a much-needed boost to our economy leading to more jobs, higher wages and greater opportunity for all Americans.”
